High-Performance Booking Website

The Challenge

Elmley Nature Reserve in Kent had expanded beyond traditional offerings to include accommodation, weddings, corporate events, retreats, and food & drink services. Their previous website struggled with usability issues around booking and couldn’t handle sudden traffic spikes from TV features.

Our Approach

Invited back after the success of our previous collaboration, we designed a next-generation website that balances community, commercial, and ecological requirements. We integrated Cloudbeds booking platform, ensuring the majority of the booking process happens on-site with only the final step processed externally.

The design employs subtle animations, beautiful aerial shots of the landscapes, and a refreshed brand to create a calming effect that mirrors the escape Elmley provides from daily life.

The Results

The new platform handles tens of thousands of sudden visitors from TV features without breaking a sweat. The improved booking process keeps users on-site longer and enhances the sales potential through a streamlined checkout experience.
