Award-Winning Film Magazine

The Challenge

Little White Lies, called “the best-designed film magazine on the shelf” by The Guardian, needed a digital platform that matched the quality and innovation of their print publication. Each issue’s design is inspired by its feature film, requiring a flexible system for custom typography, chapter headings, and editorial icons.

Our Approach

We built a Craft CMS platform that supports their unique three-part review system rating films on “Anticipation,” “Enjoyment,” and “In Retrospect.” The architecture allows for highly customized design elements that can change per issue, honoring the magazine’s commitment to bespoke visual storytelling.

We also integrated their “Truth & Movies” podcast and built a subscription system that seamlessly connects print and digital offerings.

The Results

The platform successfully extends Little White Lies’ distinctive editorial voice and design excellence to the web. Published by TCOLondon, the site serves an international audience of film lovers while maintaining the independent spirit that made the magazine a success since 2005.
