Launching Safe Futures Hub

Note: This article was last updated on October 16, 2024 and may contain outdated information.

We’ve launched Safe Futures Hub, a collaborative platform bringing together advocates, strategists, policymakers, frontline workers, and youth voices to end childhood sexual violence. The project is a joint initiative between SVRI, Together for Girls, and WeProtect Global Alliance, supported by Oak Foundation.

The brief centred on creating an open platform where diverse stakeholders could access, generate, and implement evidence-based solutions. This wasn’t about creating a repository where information goes to live quietly. The Hub needed to actively support people working in different contexts, with different resources, facing different challenges.

We built a Solutions Database with sophisticated filtering, allowing users to discover proven interventions relevant to their specific contexts. The platform also houses “Building Safe Futures,” a comprehensive evidence review focused on low- and middle-income countries where resources and infrastructure differ significantly from high-income settings.

The architecture emphasises collaboration, innovation, and diversity. Built on Craft CMS, the system allows the team to grow the database and add resources as new evidence emerges and new solutions are developed and tested.

The Hub launched at the Clinton Global Initiative 2023 meeting, providing the global community with a centralised resource for preventing childhood sexual violence. It’s a working tool for people doing difficult work, connecting them with evidence and each other.
